Lynx Lite 12″ Compact Wheelchair

The Lynx Lite 12″ is a lightweight transit wheelchair that weighs 14 kg, built for a carer to push. Its S-curve seat is shaped to follow the body, so it is more comfortable and helps to stop the user slouching. It has a steel frame and carries users up to 100 kg. The armrests and footrests flip up, the tyres are solid, and a seat belt is included.

Would the user rather push themselves? The Lynx Lite 20″ has larger wheels with push rims. If you want an even lighter chair to lift into the car, the Lynx Ultralite 16″ is ultra lightweight at 8 kg.

How this lightweight transit wheelchair works

The 12-inch rear wheels have no push rims, so a carer pushes the chair using the handles. Lockable brake levers on the push handles hold the chair still, and there is a second set of brakes on the frame.

The seat is 48 cm wide and 42 cm deep, and it sits 48 cm from the floor. The tyres are solid, so they never need pumping. The armrests and footrests flip up, so moving across from a bed, sofa or car seat is easier.

To store it or take it in the car, fold the frame and then fold the backrest down. Folded, the chair is 68 cm long, 30 cm wide and 72 cm high.

Can I take it on a plane?
Yes. It is a manual wheelchair with no battery, so there are no battery rules to worry about. Airlines usually carry a passenger’s own wheelchair and return it when you land. However, every airline has its own procedure, so tell your airline about the wheelchair when you book.

Do the tyres need pumping?
No. The tyres are solid, so they never need pumping and cannot puncture.

What does the warranty cover?
One year on the steel frame, against manufacturing defects. Parts that wear with use, such as tyres, upholstery and armrest pads, are not covered.
