Lynx Lite 20″ Compact Wheelchair

The Lynx Lite 20″ is a lightweight foldable wheelchair that weighs 14 kg. Its 20-inch rear wheels have push rims, so the user can push themselves, and a carer can push from behind as well. Its S-curve seat is shaped to follow the body, so it is more comfortable and helps to stop the user slouching. It has a steel frame and carries users up to 100 kg. The armrests and footrests flip up, the tyres are solid, and a seat belt is included.

Will a carer always be pushing? The Lynx Lite 12″ has smaller wheels for that. If you want an even lighter chair, the Lynx Ultralite 22″ is ultra lightweight at 10 kg.

How this lightweight foldable wheelchair works

The user turns the push rims on the 20-inch rear wheels to move and steer. A carer can also push using the handles, where brake levers lock the chair. There is also a brake beside each rear wheel, within the user’s reach.

The seat is 48 cm wide and 42 cm deep, and it sits 48 cm from the floor. The tyres are solid, so they never need pumping. The armrests and footrests flip up, so moving across from a bed, sofa or car seat is easier.

To store it or take it in the car, the frame folds up. Folded, the chair is 75 cm long, 34 cm wide and 75 cm high.

Can I take it on a plane?
Yes. It is a manual wheelchair with no battery, so there are no battery rules to worry about. Airlines usually carry a passenger’s own wheelchair and return it when you land. However, every airline has its own procedure, so tell your airline about the wheelchair when you book.

Do the tyres need pumping?
No. The tyres are solid, so they never need pumping and cannot puncture.

What does the warranty cover?
One year on the steel frame, against manufacturing defects. Parts that wear with use, such as tyres, upholstery and armrest pads, are not covered.
