Airlight-Rolls 2-in-1 Electric Rollator Wheelchair

The Airlight-Rolls is an electric rollator wheelchair: a walking frame to hold while you walk, and a powered chair to sit in and drive when you tire. It weighs 17 kg with its battery in and folds to 27 cm wide. The lithium battery and charger are included.

How this electric rollator wheelchair works

As a rollator, the user stands behind it and holds the handles while walking. The handles adjust, so the overall height runs from 78 to 97 cm to suit shorter and taller users.

As a wheelchair, the user sits down and steers with the joystick, at up to 5 km/h. Two 250 W brushless motors sit inside the rear wheels. When the joystick is released, the chair stops and holds its position on a gentle slope.

The 24 V 6 Ah lithium battery recharges in about 3 to 4 hours. The manufacturer rates the chair at up to 20 km per charge. A heavier rider, slopes and an older battery all reduce this, so plan shorter trips at first.

Folded, it measures L 94 × W 27 × H 78 cm. With the footrests removed, the length drops to 70 cm.

Can I take it on a plane?
The battery is a 144 Wh lithium-ion pack. Airlines generally allow a removable wheelchair battery of up to 300 Wh, carried in the cabin, so this battery is within that limit. However, every airline decides for itself, so travel is always subject to airline approval. Contact your airline before you book and tell them the battery size.

How far does it go, and how long does it take to recharge?
The manufacturer rates it at up to 20 km on a full battery. A heavier rider, slopes and an older battery all reduce this, so plan shorter trips at first. Recharging takes about 3 to 4 hours with the charger supplied.

Can it be used outdoors and in the rain?
Yes, on smooth and level pavements, in malls and along hospital walkways. Use the kerb ramp, because it is not built to climb kerbs. Keep it out of the rain and away from puddles, because water can damage the electronics.

What does the warranty cover?
One year on the frame, motors, controller and battery, against manufacturing defects. Normal wear on tyres, seat fabric and armrest pads is not covered.
