Airlight-Go Aluminium Electric Wheelchair

The Airlight-Go is a lightweight electric wheelchair with an aluminium frame that weighs 16 kg with its battery in. It folds down to L 56 × W 33 × H 69 cm, so it fits a compact car boot, and the armrests and footrests both flip up to make getting in and out easier. The lithium battery and charger are included.

How this lightweight electric wheelchair works

The user steers with a joystick on the armrest, at up to 5 km/h. Two 200 W motors drive the rear wheels. When the joystick is released, the chair stops and holds its position on a gentle slope.

The 24 V 6 Ah lithium battery comes off the chair, so the frame drops to 14.25 kg for lifting, and it recharges in about 6 hours. The manufacturer rates the chair at up to 20 km per charge. A heavier rider, slopes and an older battery all reduce this, so plan shorter trips at first.

To fold it, release the latch and push the front and back together. Folded, it measures L 56 × W 33 × H 69 cm.

Will it fit in my car boot?
Folded, the chair measures L 56 × W 33 × H 69 cm, so it fits the boot of a compact car such as a Perodua Axia.

Can I take it on a plane?
The battery is a 144 Wh lithium-ion pack that comes off the chair. Airlines generally allow a removable wheelchair battery of up to 300 Wh, carried in the cabin, so this battery is within that limit. We can also give you the battery’s UN38.3 test report, which some airlines ask for. However, every airline decides for itself, so travel is always subject to airline approval. Contact your airline before you book and tell them the battery size.

How far does it go, and how long does it take to recharge?
The manufacturer rates it at up to 20 km on a full battery. A heavier rider, slopes and an older battery all reduce this, so plan shorter trips at first. Recharging takes about 6 hours with the charger supplied.

Can it be used outdoors and in the rain?
Yes, on smooth and level pavements, in malls and along hospital walkways. Use the kerb ramp, because it is not built to climb kerbs. Keep it out of the rain and away from puddles, because water can damage the electronics.

What does the warranty cover?
One year on the frame, motors, controller and battery, against manufacturing defects. Normal wear on tyres, seat fabric and armrest pads is not covered.
