How Does the Aircast AirSelect Elite Walker Boot Differ from the Aircast Standard Boot?
Unlike the Aircast Short Boot, which is most suitable for foot and ankle injuries, both Aircast Standard and Aircast Elite are of the same height, offering support for your lower leg as well as your ankle. What they differ in is the number of aircells.
The AirSelect Standard comes with two aircells, left and right, while the AirSelect Elite has two additional posterior aircells. This makes the Elite Boot perfect if your injury is at the very back of your foot or ankle.
What Is the Purpose of the Aircells?
The Aircast AirSelect Elite Boot is crafted with four aircells that are layered within the semi-rigid shell to provide pulsating compression with each step. This design is clinically proven to reduce oedema (swelling) three times faster than other options available on the market.
This Elite version of the Aircast AirSelect Standard Walker Boot features two additional cells that run slightly behind the regular two ankle cells. These extend the full length of the brace to increase overall compression of the foot.

Warnings/Precautions
Do not overinflate aircells. Improper aircell inflation may cause significant skin irritation in patients with diabetic neuropathy. Reduce aircell compression with any visual skin changes or reported discomfort. Do not use this device on patients incapable of communicating physical discomfort. Like all lower extremity immobilizers, such as casts or braces, patients without sensation (i.e. postop anesthesia, neuropathies, etc.) should be monitored frequently for “hot spots”, skin irritation or wound management. Use caution when walking on slippery or wet surfaces to avoid injury.
