The DonJoy OA Nano Knee Brace is designed for individuals with mild to moderate unicompartmental knee osteoarthritis who want to remain active and move more comfortably.

Its three-point off-loading system shifts compressive forces away from the affected side of the knee towards the healthier compartment. This helps reduce pressure on the painful area while providing additional stability during movement.

The flexible magnesium frame closely follows the shape of the leg for a secure and comfortable fit. DonJoy’s four-points-of-leverage design also supports the knee ligaments, while the contoured frame and optional anti-migration band help prevent the brace from slipping during activity.

DonJoy OA Nano Instructions

The brace must be correctly selected for the affected knee and compartment. Initial fitting and off-loading adjustment should be performed by a qualified healthcare professional.

• Sit on the edge of a chair and bend the knee to approximately 45°
• Slide the brace onto the leg
• Position the hinges approximately 2.5cm above the top of the kneecap and slightly behind the leg’s midline
• Secure straps number 1 and 2
• Push both hinges towards the back of the leg and secure strap number 3
• Gently bring the hinges forward without moving them beyond the leg’s midline
• Attach the anti-migration band if required
• Secure straps number 4 and 5
• Check that both hinges remain centred just above the kneecap
• Bend the knee several times and walk around to check for slipping
• If necessary, tighten the straps again in their numbered order
• Adjust the strap lengths underneath the strap pads for a secure and comfortable fit

The brace should be worn directly against clean, dry skin. Do not adjust its varus or valgus loading mechanism without guidance from a qualified healthcare professional.

DonJoy OA Nano Care

• Remove the liners and condyle pads before cleaning
• Hand wash them in water at approximately 30°C using mild soap
• Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue
• Allow all components to air dry completely
• Do not machine wash or heat dry
• Inspect the hinge screws regularly and tighten them if loose
• A suitable dry lubricant may be applied to the internal hinge mechanism
• Clean and dry the brace after exposure to water

How to Measure

Using a flexible measuring tape, measure the circumference of the thigh 15cm above the centre of the kneecap.

• XS: 33–39cm
• S: 39–47cm
• M: 47–53cm
• L: 53–60cm
• XL: 60–67cm
• XXL: 67–75cm
• XXXL: 75–82.5cm

The correct model must also be selected according to:

• Left or right knee
• Medial or lateral affected compartment

The adjustment hinge is positioned on the opposite side of the affected compartment.
